An Unexpected Venue to Share the Gospel

An Unexpected Venue to Share the Gospel

by George White, Missionary Partner
One day at language school, the teacher from the classroom next to us asked if I (George) could come to help with a question that a student had. In the other room, there were three students of various backgrounds learning English. Apparently, in their workbook, there was a discussion about religion.

One of the students in the room was Muslim and started asking questions about the Bible; she specifically wanted to know what Scriptures we use for authority in Christianity (in comparison to the Quran). This conversation then led to a discussion of the differences between Catholicism and Evangelicalism which then led to many more topics. By the end of it, we spent about 45 minutes talking about Christianity and the gospel message. She also expressed an openness to further conversations. In this season of language learning, we weren’t very hopeful for significant gospel conversations.

But over and over God has presented opportunities to share his message of love and forgiveness with people we cross paths with. Especially considering this was at language school! It’s amazing that God would use even our language school as a venue for a gospel presentation.
