Day 7: Rest in God’s Presence
Day 7: Rest in God’s Presence
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” - Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it can be easy to forget the importance of simply being still. We live in a world that values productivity, achievement, and constant motion. Yet, in Psalm 46:10, God invites us to pause and rest in His presence. This verse is not merely a call to cease physical activity, but a profound invitation to quiet our hearts and minds before the Lord, acknowledging His sovereignty and resting in the assurance that He is in control.
Resting in God’s presence is not just about taking a break from our busy schedules; it’s about surrendering our anxieties, worries, and the need to control every aspect of our lives. When we intentionally create space to be still before God, we allow Him to remind us of who He is—our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in trouble.
To rest in God’s presence is to find peace in His character and promises. It is to trust that He is working on our behalf, even when we cannot see it. This kind of rest doesn’t require us to have all the answers or to have everything figured out. Instead, it invites us to trust in God’s faithfulness and His perfect timing.

Prayer Focus:
Today, pray for the ability to find true rest in God’s presence. Ask Him to help you slow down, quiet your heart, and trust in His unfailing love and power. Invite Him into the moments of your day where you feel overwhelmed or anxious, and ask Him to fill those spaces with His peace.
Reflection:
How can you create more moments of rest in God’s presence throughout your day? Consider setting aside specific times to pause and reflect on God’s goodness. This might look like starting your day with the Lord, taking a short break during your lunch to meditate on a verse, or ending your day by thanking God for His presence. These intentional pauses not only refresh your spirit but also deepen your awareness of God’s constant presence with you.
