Day 18: Boldness to B.L.E.S.S.

Day 18: Boldness to B.L.E.S.S.

"Now when they saw the BOLDNESS of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus… “and now Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all BOLDNESS.” Acts 4:13,29

Boldness. It’s not a normal behavior for most of us. And although Peter had demonstrated some boldness in the past, his most recent acts involved fear, denying, abandoning Jesus at his lowest moment. And in this particular moment, he is standing before the same council that had Jesus crucified just weeks before, yet all the fear has drained out of him. This “uneducated, common man” has become bold. Gospel Bold.

Prayer Focus:

LORD, I confess that sometimes I feel “uneducated and untrained” as a Christian. Grant me the confidence of knowing that all I need is to be with Jesus and he can give me the boldness to “bless” the people where I live, work and play.

Reflection:

As a church we have set an aggressive goal to have thousands of “gospel lunches”, a time when you have an intentional spiritual conversation that moves your relationship into the bold space of sharing your story and perhaps even the gospel! Who could you invite over for a dinner from your neighborhood. You can begin to use B.L.E.S.S. as five ordinary ways to reach your neighbors and change the world!
