Walking By Faith

“for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
2 Corinthians 5:7
Much of life is shaped by what we can see. We trust what is measurable, predictable, and familiar. The Christian journey calls us to a different way of living: one that is guided not by visible certainty, but by confident trust in God. Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 5:7 remind us that faith is not just a belief we hold; it is a path we walk.
Walking by faith means choosing God and obedience even when outcomes are unclear. Faith doesn’t deny what is right in front of you, but it refuses to let current conditions define God’s power or plans. Sight focuses on what is. Faith anchors us in what God has declared.
Faith is active, requiring daily steps of trust. Sometimes those steps feel small: praying when answers seem delayed, continuing to love when it’s difficult, remaining faithful when progress feels invisible. At other times, faith demands courage, asking us to step into uncertainty with nothing but God’s word as our guide. When we walk by faith, we learn to rely on His holy character rather than our human understanding. Each step becomes an act of surrender, declaring that God sees farther than we do.
Today, consider where God is inviting you to walk by faith instead of sight. Trust Him with the next step. As you do, you’ll discover that faith doesn’t eliminate fear, but it leads you forward, confident that God is already at work ahead of you.

Prayer: Father, I confess how easily I rely on what I can see instead of trusting who You are. Teach me to walk by faith and to take the next step in obedience even when the path seems unclear. When fear or doubt comes, steady my mind in Your promises and remind me that You are already at work beyond what I can see. I surrender my plans and my need for certainty, but instead, choose to trust You today.
