God Works for Your Good

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
There are seasons when it feels impossible to see anything good in what we’re facing. Plans fall apart, prayers seem delayed, and life moves in directions we never expected. Romans 8:28 doesn’t promise that everything is good, but it does promise that God is actively working all things for good in the lives of those who love Him. Even the chapters we would never choose become part of a story He is faithfully redeeming.

God’s “good” is not always the same as our definition of good. We often want comfort, clarity, and control. God desires transformation, depth, and closeness with Him. He weaves purpose into pain, growth into waiting, and strength into weakness. What feels confusing in the moment may one day be recognized as the doorway to a deeper faith we could not have gained any other way.

When we trust that God is working — even when we cannot see how — we shift from fear to surrender. The pressure to fix everything lifts, and we are free to rest in the truth that we are held by a God who never wastes a moment. He is present in your challenges right now, shaping them according to a plan that is far better than anything you could design for yourself.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the promise that You are working all things together for good, even when I cannot see it. In the moments that feel uncertain or heavy, remind me that You are present and purposeful in every detail. Help me trust Your timing, surrender my need for control, and rest in the truth that You are shaping my story with love and wisdom. Draw me closer to You through every season, and give me eyes to see Your goodness unfolding in ways beyond my understanding. Amen.
