Fear Not, God is With You

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
At the beginning of Isaiah 41, Israel stands trembling before mighty nations. From a worldly perspective, Israel was insignificant and weak. Yet, God reminds them that as an extension of His hand, nothing is impossible. In our lives, fear often creeps in when we are feeling isolated or alone. Many things come up in this life that are challenging, including financial setbacks, a health diagnosis, or family struggles. We can feel as if the weight of the world is on our shoulders and we try to bear it alone, forgetting Jesus’ invitation that His "yoke is easy," and His "burden is light" (Matthew 11:30).

In verse 10, God promises His presence, not the immediate removal of the problem. Even Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, prayed for His cup of suffering to be removed. It is a lesson for us that the Father did not take it away from Jesus, not because He was absent, but because His plan for our salvation was perfect. Jesus endured the darkness of the cross so that the light of God’s presence would be permanently available to us.

God gives you assurances that He will strengthen you when you're exhausted and worn out, He will help you through the power of the Holy Spirit, and He will uphold you. When you stumble and struggle, just remember that it is not your grip on God that is important, but His "righteous right hand" holding onto you. You do not need to face tomorrow alone; lean on your Heavenly Father as he is with you!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God who does not watch from a distance, but walks beside me. Even when my circumstances feel overwhelming, I know I am not alone because You are with me. Lord, I confess that I often let fear and stress take a foothold in my life. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to do things on my own strength. I choose to release my fears into Your almighty hands. Strengthen me by Your Spirit, help me in my weakness, and give me the courage to face tomorrow knowing that You will always care for me. Lord, I invite you into my daily walk with the comfort and peace that only You can bring.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
