God's Everlasting Arms

"The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
Deuteronomy 33:27
It is hard to imagine dwelling in a place for eternity when we compare it to our current life, which is filled with uncertainty. We measure almost everything by time, how long something will take, how long it will last, or how much time we have left. Eternity, however, is the absence of time, which makes it difficult for us to fully understand. Could this be the reason we are always chasing the temporary things of this world?

Here is the reality, “Everything you own will end up in a junkyard.” Over time, our possessions fade, break, or lose their value. Even our bodies grow weak and eventually give up. Nothing in this life lasts forever.

Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Because of Jesus, we are welcomed into the reality of eternity, even if we cannot fully understand it. That is why there is nothing that can be compared to dwelling in the arms of the One who created us and died to rescue us, so that we could be with Him forever. Our God is everlasting, the uncreated One. Nothing was made without Him, and everything was made for Him and through Him.

There is no place safer, more peaceful, or more joyful than the presence of Almighty God. And the good news is this: everyone is welcome.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your invitation to come to You when we are weary and burdened. Draw us closer to Yourself, and teach us to abide in You as You abide in us. Teach us to truly rest in You, and when life becomes heavy and difficult, remind us to run to You and not away from You. We acknowledge that only in Your presence can we find everlasting peace, hope, and joy. We place our trust in You and long for the day of Your return. Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
