Trust in God's Timing

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"
Psalm 27:14
Psalm 27:14
In the culture we live in now, immediacy is a part of our lives. We can order something online, and it comes to our door the next day. We can go to self-checkout and not have to worry about waiting in a checkout line. We can use ChatGPT to get information on anything and everything without having to read a book or do our own research. In our society, there isn't much waiting to be done.
However, there is so much good that comes from waiting on the Lord. To wait on something is to stay in place until a specific time or until something else happens. Waiting is an action. David encourages us to wait on the Lord, to trust Him and depend on Him in His perfect timing. God is never in a rush, and as we wait on His timing in our lives, we can draw near to Him, growing in patience and dependence on the Lord, enjoying the gifts and blessings that He has placed right in front of us, and trusting in His good character and good plans. It’s because of His character and plans that we can be strong and courageous as we trust in Him, knowing that our strength and courage comes from the Lord.
Waiting allows us to slow down and enjoy the Lord right where we are. So in the season you are currently in, whether you are waiting for something or not, how can you draw near to the Lord, trusting in His good plans?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, you are so good and hold good plans. Your timing is always perfect. Forgive me for trying to rush through the waiting season. Help me to trust in you and remember that you are never in a rush. In this waiting season, I pray that you guide me to depend on you more and draw near to you in the waiting. Help me to look up and enjoy the gifts and blessings that you have given me right now. God thank you for giving me strength and courage when I rely on you. I pray that you remind me that I find my strength and courage in you alone. As I am in the midst of this waiting season, guide me to draw near to you, depend on you, and trust in your timing. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
