Unchanging God

In a single day of high volatility, the global stock market can lose or gain over 3 trillion dollars in value. That is more money than most countries produce in an entire year. It is a staggering statistic that reminds us how quickly the things we rely on for security can shift and vanish. Unlike the stock market or the world around us, we are fortunate to serve a God who never changes.
God has always been and will always be the same faithful, powerful, and loving God. When the world seems to be constantly shifting with new ideas, different values, and technology that updates every few months, we can lean into a God who is constant. From the very beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Even though the world has changed over thousands of years, God has remained exactly the same.
We see this most clearly in Jesus. When He walked the earth, He did not change His mind or go back on His word. He stayed faithful and showed us how to stand firm by trusting in the truth of God. This is the ultimate proof that Jesus is truly the same yesterday, today, and forever. Because He is the same throughout time, no mistake or stress will cause Jesus to walk away from us. His love is steady and unchanging. We can have full confidence in Him because His character is the one thing in this world that will never move.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise You for being my constant anchor in a world of volatility. What a blessing it is to know that while the world around me shifts, updates, and changes, You remain exactly the same faithful, powerful, and loving God. I acknowledge that You are the only one whose character never moves.
Lord, forgive me for the times I get caught up in the chaos and turmoil of everything going on around me. Forgive me for seeking security in things that can vanish in a single day, rather than in Your eternal truth. I surrender my anxieties about the future and the 'shifting sands' of this world, and I choose to place my full confidence in Your steady love.
Help me to refocus my attention on You today. In the midst of new ideas and changing values, lead me back to the truth that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Strengthen my heart to stand firm, knowing that no mistake or stress will ever cause You to walk away from me. Make my hope and peace secure in Your unchanging presence.
