Ready to Rescue Day 39

PRAYER VERSE: COLOSSIANS 1:21-23
21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.
PRAYER FOCUS
Praise God for the work that He has done in reconciling us to Himself and also for the work that He is doing to present us holy, blameless, and above reproach to Himself. Repent of any self effort to make yourself right before God. Ask God to strengthen your faith, so that you can stand firm in the face of trials and temptations. Yield to God's call on your life to be a disciple that is dependent on Him in each and every moment of your life.
DEVOTIONAL
Read Colossians 1:21-23
- What is the 'If-then' statement in these verses?
- How are we tempted to shift from the hope of the Gospel to other things?
- What can we do to fight off temptations and remain steadfast?
FASTING ON FRIDAYS
We are encouraging everyone that can to join us in fasting from after dinner on Thursday until dinner on Friday. If you cannot fast from food, consider fasting from something else for this time each week (television, video games, social media, shopping). Here are some good resources on fasting: https://www.desiringgod.org/topics/fasting.
