Prayer and Fasting
A Time of Prayer + Fasting
by Steve
It is about a week into the annual Islamic practice of Ramadan. During this time, Muslim believers seek to grow spiritually through fasting and abstaining from sunrise to sunset each day. In western Sudan, Ramadan is quite hard for Christians. Typically during this season, persecution of Christ-followers is increased because they do not follow the same predominant religious practices.
Just this past Monday, Majir went to the bakery to purchase some bread. On his return home, he met friends who knew he was a Christian.
Just this past Monday, Majir went to the bakery to purchase some bread. On his return home, he met friends who knew he was a Christian.
They picked up stones and threw them at him. They insulted him terribly!
Entering his home, Majir sat down and began to weep. He didn’t know what to say. He was not crying because of the stones thrown at him but because of the ignorance of people who threw stones at someone because of their faith.
Majir called the church in Zalingi and asked everyone to join him in fasting for three days and pray for the people. So today, tomorrow, and the day after, the church in Zalingi will have a time of prayer and fasting for the people in western Sudan.
Please join us in prayer. Pray that

- God will show himself to the people of western Sudan.
- Pray that the eyes and hearts of people are open to the gospel.
After praying, post a comment and join others in praying for the advancement of the gospel.
