Salia Musala
Salia Musala
by Steve Grote
Taban is one of our global partners seeking to advance the gospel of Jesus in the region of northern Uganda, southern South Sudan, and northeast DR Congo. This area is known by locals as Salia Musala which is the region where Uganda, DR Congo, and South Sudan all share a border. Salia Musala means “three stones.” It is a term used to describe the three stones used to support an outdoor fire stove. Many people in this area are refugees and move freely across the borders. It is their desire to share the gospel, and train leaders to carry the gospel and start churches, as people return to their homelands. They are asking God to make this a center for the advancement of the gospel in this region.
In a recent outreach event, this new church plant went door-to-door to share the gospel and invite their community to worship with them on Sundays. They were able to share the gospel with about 70 people. Three (3) people gave their lives to Christ.
They also studied the book of Colossians together and appointed leaders for the growing community of believers.
Would you join me in praying for this new church plant?

Praying that God would bless this church and that His light would spread throughout that region.
